You may have heard about imaginary numbers and the mysterious number $$ i $$, the supposed square root of negative one. But what do they really mean? We will explore the subject of complex numbers (sums of real numbers and imaginary numbers) from a geometric perspective, and (hopefully) gain a deeper appreciation for what these objects are and why they are so interesting.
