Brief Biographical Sketch:

Born and raised in Moscow, Russia. Studied applied mathematics and philosophy at Brown. Currently a graduate student at Cornell University.

In my free time, I enjoy skiing, weight lifting, urban sketching, and, recently, baking sourdough at high altitudes.

M14095: Mathematical Models and How to Build One in HSSP Summer 2020 (Jul. 11, 2020)
So, when ARE you going to use all the math you have been learning? In this class, we will talk about the how mathematical models are constructed, what they can do for us, and how you could build one! Join us if you'd like to model anything from language death to games of rock-paper-scissors. In the latter part of the course, we will make models from scratch to study phenomena of your choice!

P8921: Perception of Russia in Modern American Culture in Splash 2014 (Nov. 22 - 23, 2014)
Are there bears on the streets of Moscow? How cold is it? What are matryoshkas and balalaikas? This class will be a discussion of stereotypes about Russians in American pop-culture, Soviet Russia jokes, and the mutual influence of stereotypes and foreign affairs. Come to tackle the riddle wrapped in mystery inside an enigma!
