Brief Biographical Sketch:

I'm a freshman from Naples, Florida who is interested in Course 20 (Biological Engineering). Other than that, I'm in all ESG classes (save for a Biological Engineering seminar), live in Senior House, and try to do a lot of service-related stuff, so I'm in APO, MedLinks, SCEP, etc.

S2719: "Dude, which way's North...?" A Crash Course in Gyroscopic Motion in Splash! 2009 (Nov. 21 - 22, 2009)
This class covers the craziest, most unholy portion of Newtonian mechanics known to man- gyroscopic motion. We intend to focus specifically on the gyrocompass and, building upon it, teach the physics that describes its motion, from angular momentum to torque and beyond... ...but we're really explaining why some things keep spinning when common sense holds that they should fall. [Fear the gyroscope.]
