In this class, we're going to take a look at what sound is, and how it has been recorded throughout the years, with a focus on digital audio. We'll learn about phonographs, vinyl records, and magnetic tape, but we'll focus more extensively on digital audio, how it is recorded, and how it can be manipulated.
Come learn how a piece of music can be represented as an etching in a vinyl surface, as a magnetic signal on a cassette tape, or as a sequence of 1's and 0's inside a computer.
