Interested in writing plays? Come and get some hand-on experience in this class taught by the MIT Shakespeare Ensemble! In the first hour, we will teach you the basics of writing scenes for the stage. We will address stage space, character voice, and conflict structure. In the second hour, you will write scripts in groups of four. After dinner, we will PERFORM as many of these scenes as possible for you and your friends!

Math is not about formulas and symbols: it's about finding patterns! If three people want to all introduce themselves to each other, how many introductions will take place? Just three! But what about ten people? fifty? Through interactive lectures, this class will introduce quirky mathematical topics not covered in regular curricula (number theory, graph theory, logic, set theory, geometry, etc.) The lectures are intended for middle school students. The class will be taught by organizers of the Harvard-MIT Math Tournament, an annual math tournament run by Harvard and MIT students.

Violence can often tell a story on stage just as well as words, if not better. When actors fight on stage, they use special techniques to appear to hurt each other without actually doing so. In this class, members of the MIT Shakespeare Ensemble will interactively introduce students to the basics of unarmed stage combat, including slaps, punches, kicks, grabs, and falls. Students will not participate in armed combat, but may see a demonstration. All students will need comfortable clothes and appropriate footwear. Absolutely no jewelry can be worn.
