Brief Biographical Sketch:

My academic background stretches across several fields including: history, international affairs, political science, and applied communications. Currently, I am enrolled in the M.S. in Applied Communication Studies program at Fitchburg State University.

In the past, I interned with a regionally focused international security organization in Washington, D.C., where I assisted scholars, diplomats, and military officers from a variety of countries. Additionally, I spent 6-weeks in Russia and served as an AmeriCorps member. At present, I advise college-bound students participating in two TRIO programs.

I approach communications through a social science perspective, with an emphasis on creating better social worlds through improving communication practices. My research (and teaching) interests include: gender, LGBTQ, and the Coordinated Management of Meaning. I have a special interest in identity performance and story sharing.
