You can run over tubs of cornstarch in water without sinking. You can break silly putty if you pull it quickly, but you can stretch it if you pull it slowly. How is this possible?
In this class we will learn about non-newtonian fluids. We will start from basic concepts of fluid mechanics and build up to different ways of classifying fluids and explaining their behavior. Finally, we will explore real-world applications of these weird materials.
