Share your passion with middle school youth. Become a Citizen Teacher!
Citizen Schools is a national nonprofit that partners with middle schools to expand the learning day and increase opportunities for low-income children. We are currently recruiting 10,000 scientists, engineers and STEM students and enthusiasts in Massachusetts and across the country to lead 12-week hands-on apprenticeship courses that build students' skills and fuel their imaginations. Volunteers would work with a group of 15 students for 90 minutes each week, with a trained staff member to support you in the classroom at one of our Boston, Revere or New Bedford schools. We have curriculum for you to choose from, or we’d work with you to design your own. Click “I want to Learn More” here if you’re interested in getting involved or would like to learn more about whether this is the right volunteer opportunity for you. Our students need your mind, passion and expertise in the classroom one afternoon a week. What will you teach?
